Requirements

COMMITMENT TO GROW – Membership in YEL is not a tick-box exercise. It is a commitment to step outside your comfort zone to reach new heights of leadership competence and impact, supported by friends and mentors who love you and want the best for you.

You will be required to commit to active participation in the development programmes, learning opportunities and serving your leadership gift for the mutual edification of the YEL family in one of the Interest Groups such as:

ACCOUNTABILITY – As a mentee, young leader and esteemed member of the YEL fraternity, your personal conduct in all areas of life is expected to satisfy the highest levels of integrity. Does this mean you will be perfect? No, it doesn’t but it does mean that you are required to be accountable for your words and actions and be transparent on matters of character with the leadership of YEL regarding your private and public life.

FINANCIAL STEWARDSHIP – Your membership will include payment of stipulated membership dues, along with a commitment to demonstrate a generosity of heart in the support of charitable projects and initiatives that improve the lives of the disadvantaged that YEL serves in a variety of ways.

Joining YEL involves a simple 3 stage process that includes the following:

APPLICATION FORM – Your first step is to complete the form available here. Please ensure you complete the form accurately, honestly and comprehensively.

The information you provide will be treated with the utmost confidentiality. We value transparency and offer opportunity to move beyond mistakes of the past. So, please do not withhold important information as later discovery of adverse information which you should have shared in your application may invalidate your application / membership.

INTERVIEW STAGE ONE – Conducted by members of the YEL Leadership Team to discuss the information provided in your application form and determine suitability for progression to the next stage.

INTERVIEW STAGE TWO – Conducted by the Senior Leadership of YEL, the outcome of which will determine the final outcome of your application.

ORIENTATION – Your official welcome to the YEL Family, opportunity to find out more about us and begin your exciting journey of leadership growth with other members of the YEL Family.
